Jakarta Kota Station

Jakarta Kota Station (JAKK) is a type A large class train station located in Pinangsia Village, Kota Tua area, Jakarta. The station which is located at an altitude of 4 meters is the largest station that is in the management of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area I Jakarta and is one of the few stations in Indonesia that has the type terminus (initial / final trip), which has no further routes . This station has twelve railway lines with lines 4 and 5 as double track straight lines from and towards Kampung Bandan Bawah-Pasar Senen-Jatinegara, lines 8 and 9 as double track straight lines from and towards Kampung Bandan Atas-Tanjung Priuk , as well as lines 11 and 12 as straight double track overpasses from and towards Gambir-Manggarai. To the northeast of this station is a dipo train that is directly connected to line 10.

The presence of Jakarta Kota Station is currently debated because it is about to be renovated with the addition of commercial space. In fact, this station has been designated as a cultural preserve, besides the ancient building, this station is the last destination of the station. Like the Surabaya Kota Station or Semut Station in Surabaya which is a cultural heritage, renovations were also considered controversial. Since around 2013-2014 all the long and medium distance passenger trains were used to have terminus to Jakarta Kota Station have finally been converted to Markets Senen Station (including Gumarang Train, South Style New Night Railroad, and Serayu Train) and Gambir (including KA Argo Parahyangan and KA Gajayana). Since February 9, 2017 all of the eastern Daop I local train (Walahar Express / Local PWK and Jatiluhur / Local CK trains) trips have been moved to Tanjung Priuk Station.
